Recap: Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions vs. Fredericksburg V Victory
The Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions won against the Fredericksburg V Victory on Saturday with 62 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Northern Virginia HomeSchool really took it to Fredericksburg V for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-27 win at home. With Northern Virginia HomeSchool ahead 39-9 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Northern Virginia HomeSchool had a senior duo take command as Jacob Gresham scored 13 points and Javier Perez scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua/Khase Anderson, who scored seven points.
Several Victory players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ben Arndt, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Sam King, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Northern Virginia HomeSchool pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Fredericksburg V, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northern Virginia HomeSchool will square off against Seton at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Seton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. Fredericksburg V's road trip will continue as they head out to face Christ Chapel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Christ Chapel Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
