Softball Recap: University School of Jackson Wins Going Away Against Fayette Academy

University School of Jackson won the last time they faced Fayette Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.

Teagan Timberlake made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Haylen Ayers was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Laura Kate Prater was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

University School of Jackson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

University School of Jackson's record now sits at 8-5-1. As for Fayette Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

University School of Jackson will square off against Jackson Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fayette Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
