Softball Recap: Blair Bears vs. Bennington Badgers

Blair never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Bennington Badgers as the Blair Bears made off with an 8-0 win. Considering the Bears have won 15 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bennington's batters probably weren't too happy with Brooke Janning, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Janning has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Blair got a big performance out of Jacy Schueth, who went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. The dominant performance also gave Schueth a new career-high in hits. Laynie Brown was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three RBI and a double.

Blair was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bennington only posted a batting average of .045.

Blair has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season. As for Bennington, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-11.
