Volleyball Recap: Los Alamos' Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Los Alamos came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls on Friday. For the Hilltoppers, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Cavemen/Cavegirls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2022.

Erin Pompeo paced Los Alamos' offense, picking up nine kills. Pompeo got some help from Lauren Evenhus and her 12 assists. Maya Graves controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Los Alamos' win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Carlsbad, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Los Alamos will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Capital at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Carlsbad, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Hobbs on the 13th.
