Basketball Recap: Hudson Fowler Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Sterling City

Ozona hadn't done well against Sterling City recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Ozona Lions strolled past the Sterling City Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 55-40. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-47 back in January.

Ozona's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hudson Fowler, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Fowler has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 15 times he's played. Leo Blanco was another key player, putting up ten points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Ozona smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.

Ozona now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Sterling City, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.

Looking ahead, Ozona will take on Reagan County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Reagan County will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Ozona surely won't give up without a fight. Sterling City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
