Volleyball Recap: Peotone Comes Up Short

Peotone lost against Manteno on Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Blue Devils fell 2-0 to the Panthers. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Mia Connolley paced Peotone's offense, picking up seven kills. Connolley got some help from Allie Werner and her 11 assists. Payton Schnelle controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Manteno can attribute much of their success to Leah Donnelly, who had eight assists and two aces. Donnelly has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Peotone's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Manteno, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.

Peotone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Aurora Central Catholic on the 18th. As for Manteno, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Morris on the 18th.
