Preview: Orange Panthers vs. Diamond Bar Brahmas
The Orange Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Diamond Bar Brahmas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Orange sitting on four straight victories and Diamond Bar on three.
Orange owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They took down Santa Ana 14-0.
Ardwon Morris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 361 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Morris was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.
Meanwhile, Diamond Bar can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ontario 42-0 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Diamond Bar just coasted through the last quarter.
Diamond Bar relied on the efforts of Sean Thompson, who rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns, and Quinton Mendoza, who threw for 147 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Brian Vu also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Orange has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Diamond Bar, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Orange has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 313.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Diamond Bar struggles in that department as they've been averaging 170.6 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
