Basketball Game Preview: Walnut Wildcats vs. Corinth Warriors

The Walnut Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Corinth Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Walnut is looking for their season's first victory.

Walnut blew Myrtle out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Myrtle got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 62-59.

Despite the defeat, Walnut got top-tier performance from Logan Wilbanks, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 40 points. The matchup was Wilbanks' ninth in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Joshua Luster, who posted eight points along with six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Corinth came up short against North Pontotoc on Friday and fell 66-58. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Corinth's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Walnut, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Walnut might still be hurting after the 62-42 loss they got from Corinth in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
