Easton Area is 1-9 against Liberty since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Rovers will host the Hurricanes at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Easton Area 2.4, Liberty 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Easton Area is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over Pocono Mountain East on Friday.

Zach Mattes tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Nolan Fuller was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Stout, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Easton Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Liberty made easy work of Pocono Mountain West on Thursday and carried off a 14-1 win. The Hurricanes haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Rocco Sciarra spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Dylan Metzgar was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Jacob Strong was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Liberty pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Easton Area, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Easton Area suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Liberty in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Rovers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
