Basketball Recap: Seton Catholic Gets the Win

Seton Catholic had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 48-47 photo finish over the Knightstown Panthers on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seton Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jason Moynihan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Moynihan a new career-high in blocks (two). Grant Semler was another key player, putting up eight points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Seton Catholic's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Knightstown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Seton Catholic Cardinals face off against the Rushville Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Knightstown and Eastern Hancock will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastern Hancock is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
