Basketball Game Preview: North Paulding Wolfpack vs. Etowah Eagles

North Paulding has won eight straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Etowah has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The North Paulding Wolfpack will host the Etowah Eagles at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in North Paulding's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.

North Paulding is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on Marietta with a sharp 83-57 win on Tuesday. Given the Wolfpack's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Blue Devils are ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Etowah fought the good fight in their overtime game against Cherokee on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 67-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Etowah's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for North Paulding, their victory bumped their record up to 21-1.

North Paulding was able to grind out a solid win over Etowah when the teams last played on January 7th, winning 52-41. Will North Paulding repeat their success, or does Etowah have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
