Illiana Christian lost against Timothy Christian back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Vikings fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 2-1. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Illiana Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Joshua Bultema paced Illiana Christian's offense, picking up nine kills. Bultema got some help from Jacob Rozendal and his ten assists. Rozendal was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Illiana Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Timothy Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-10 record.

Looking ahead, Illiana Christian will host Lake Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Vikings have won three straight at home, while the Indians won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Timothy Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Chicago Christian on the 29th.
