The West Boca Raton Bulls will challenge the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
West Boca Raton hadn't beaten Boca Raton on the road since March 8, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Bulls walked away with a 9-5 win over the Bobcats.

Megan Brockmann made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, West Boca Raton let Erin Broadley and Madison Luft run wild. Broadley scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Luft scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Broadley a new career-high in RBI (two). Gabriela Thigpen was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
West Boca Raton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.7 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.2.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Somerset Academy - Canyons). Everything went their way against Forest Hill on Thursday as they made off with a 17-3 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Ryleigh Singer and Riley Rosenberg made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Singer pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Rosenberg struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Singer scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4, while Rosenberg scored a run while going 2-for-3. Singer also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Somerset Academy - Canyons got a big performance out of Ava Midgett, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Lisa Nguyen, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Somerset Academy - Canyons has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Boca Raton, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
