Softball Recap: Apple Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Victor Valley last Monday, Apple Valley came back down to earth. The Apple Valley Sun Devils fell just short of the Orange Vista Coyotes by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. The Sun Devils' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Brooke Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

Apple Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-4-1. As for Orange Vista, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coming up, Apple Valley will be playing at home against Silverado at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Silverado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Orange Vista, they and Centennial will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Orange Vista surely won't give up without a fight.
