Blue Ridge had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They put the hurt on the James River HomeSchool Eagles with a sharp 7-1 victory. Considering the Jays have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Lochlan 'Bear' Paul was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Blue Ridge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Josh Landis was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Blue Ridge's record is now 11-5. As for James River HomeSchool, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Blue Ridge beat the Eagles by a score of 17-1 later that day.
