Softball Recap: Port Aransas Takes a Loss

Port Aransas managed to slip by Kenedy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Port Aransas Marlins came up short against the Kenedy Lions on Friday, falling 18-3. The Marlins' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Port Aransas' defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Kenedy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port Aransas will head out to square off against Yorktown at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Yorktown has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.71 runs per game on average), something Port Aransas will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kenedy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Agua Dulce at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Kenedy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
