Conway Springs had won four straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 8-5 to make it five. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Medicine Lodge Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted since April 1, 2024.
As for Medicine Lodge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
For Medicine Lodge's part, Adalynn Cope spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Claire Cunningham and Avalon Theis stepped up to the plate in a big way.
