Softball Game Preview: Pasadena Bulldogs vs. Arcadia Apaches

For the second straight game, Pasadena will face off against Arcadia. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Apaches at 3:45 p.m. Pasadena is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Pasadena lost 18-3 to Arcadia on Thursday.

For Arcadia's part, Quinn Sullivan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up nine Ks. Sullivan has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jace Kinder, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two). Isabella Martinez was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Arcadia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pasadena only posted an OBP of .261.

Arcadia is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Pasadena, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Both Pasadena and Arcadia just can't seem to miss. The Bulldogs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Arcadia struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.9 hits.
