Football Recap: Lampasas Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory + How To Watch

Lampasas strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 31-24 win over the Wimberley Texans. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Badgers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Texans are ranked 138th).

Lampasas' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden McElwain, who rushed for 150 yards on only six carries. McElwain's longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Bryson Roberts, who threw for 205 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lampasas was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Wimberley lost, don't look at Maverick Jacobs. Despite the final result, he rushed for 99 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Lampasas' record is now 4-0. As for Wimberley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lampasas will host University at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Badgers will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Wimberley, they will take on Navarro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Texans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
