Dakota waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Utica Eisenhower Eagles get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dakota's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Utica Eisenhower, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Utica Eisenhower will head out to challenge Chippewa Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dakota will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' game: after the Eagles face off against the Big Reds, they'll take on Dakota again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
