After flying high against Madison Highland Prep last Wednesday, Camp Verde came back down to earth. The Camp Verde Cowboys fell 33-20 to the Bisbee Pumas on Friday. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pumas apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Bisbee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sebastian Lopez, who rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 157 yards and a touchdown on only 14 passes. Lopez got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards. Bryceton Meyer also helped out as he racked up 137 rushing yards.

Camp Verde's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for Bisbee, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Camp Verde does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bisbee, they will face off against Pima at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pima will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Bisbee surely won't give up without a fight.
