New Jersey sophomore doesn't let anybody put the ball in play during a playoff semifinal contest.

Watch Mia Faieta's final pitch to all 21 batters she battled Saturday.

It's impossible to tell how well the Cedar Grove (N.J.) softball team's defense played Saturday. And there's no way to determine if the North Warren (N.J.) players have mastered the art of baserunning.

None of those parts of the game played a role Saturday, thanks to a jaw-dropping pitching performance that saw Cedar Grove sophomore Mia Faieta strike out all 21 batters she faced in a 4-0 playoff victory. In other words, she managed to find a more perfect way to throw a perfect game in the Section 1, Group 1 semifinals.

News 12 Varsity reporter Sean Reilly was there, as you can see from the Tweet below, and reported that 18 of the 21 K's were of the swinging variety. The feat was not a state record, though, as Faieta came up one short in that regard.

Faieta actually did the same thing just eight days earlier according to NorthJersey.com, but the difference was that game only needed five innings to finish, and also that the North Warren performance was deeper into the postseason.

The sophomore is making a huge push toward the MaxPreps All-American Teams thanks to a reported total of 321 strikeouts by NorthJersey.com.
