MaxPreps regional high school football computer rankings: West region

Two of the top three teams in the MaxPreps west region football computer rankings will meet this week when No. 1 Mater Dei takes on No. 3 St. John Bosco in the Southern Section Division I championship game.

No. 2 Bishop Gorman, which was No. 1 through the first two months of the season, could move back into the No. 1 spot with a win over No. 17 Liberty in the Nevada Division I state championship and a Mater Dei loss.

The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The West region consists of teams from Hawaii, Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Utah.
