Recap: Fort Payne Wildcats vs. Gadsden City Titans
If the Fort Payne Wildcats were feeling good off their 61-24 takedown of the Westminster Christian Academy Wildcats last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fort Payne fell just short of Gadsden City by a score of 49-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Fort Payne has suffered yet this season.
Gadsden City found their leader in underclassman Madison Tinker, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tinker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karleigh Sheffield, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Fort Payne's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Gadsden City, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-15.
Fort Payne will face off against Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oxford is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Gadsden City, they will be playing at home against Sardis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sardis will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
