Basketball Recap: Silver Creek Falls Despite Big Games from Dane Sprigler and Dane Caldwell

After flying high against Christian Academy last Tuesday, Silver Creek came back down to earth. The Silver Creek Dragons took a 67-49 bruising from the Brownstown Central Braves on Friday. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Silver Creek's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dane Caldwell, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 17 points and five blocks, and Dane Sprigler, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points. With that strong performance, Caldwell is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasen Daeger, who posted eight points.

Silver Creek's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-2. As for Brownstown Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Silver Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.5 points per game this season. Brownstown Central has already played their next match, an 83-43 victory against Rock Creek Academy on the 18th.
