Wyatt Bond Delivers Electric Effort Vs Leake Academy

Starting off the list is Lamar's Wyatt Bond, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Bond rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns. Those 63 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Lamar's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. Bond and Lamar will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Adams County Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Matthan Weaver Delivers Best Performance of Season

Leake Academy was led to victory by Matthan Weaver, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Weaver's receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 105 receiving yards. He also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because Leake Academy is 5-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

The win (which was Leake Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Weaver and Leake Academy will face off against Simpson Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Wilcox Made His Presence Known in Leake Academy's 35-34 Victory

Another Leake Academy player making an appearance on this list is George Wilcox. He threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. His passing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 315 passing yards.

Wilcox is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Simpson Academy on Friday. When Wilcox last faced the Cougars back in October of 2023, he threw for 376 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.
