Preview: Faith Lutheran Crusaders vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies
The Faith Lutheran Crusaders will stay at home for another game and welcome the Spring Valley Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Faith Lutheran faced the Panthers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Faith Lutheran enjoyed a cozy 55-40 win over the Panthers.
Raina Forgue and Tamiah Harrison were among the main playmakers for Faith Lutheran as the former scored 16 points along with five steals and the latter scored 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harrison has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emma Herpin, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Spring Valley came up short against the Cougars on Tuesday and fell 68-61. Spring Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Faith Lutheran pushed their record up to 11-10 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Spring Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Everything went Faith Lutheran's way against the Grizzlies in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the Crusaders made off with a 70-44 victory. Does Faith Lutheran have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
