Recap: Coldwater Cardinals vs. Portage Northern Huskies
The Coldwater Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 30 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 59-16 win over Portage Northern on the road. Coldwater's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Ellianna Foley was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with four steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Elli Anderson, who scored 13 points.
Coldwater's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Portage Northern, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Coldwater will be home for the holidays to greet Western at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Western is ranked 187th, while Coldwater is ranked 182nd). As for Portage Northern, they will head out on the road to face off against Gull Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
