Football Game Preview: Mandarin Mustangs vs. Buchholz Bobcats + Official Tickets

The Mandarin Mustangs will challenge the Buchholz Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Mandarin sitting on seven straight victories and Buchholz on ten.

Mandarin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 42-35 win over Pace. 42 seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Mandarin found their leader in sophomore Knox Annis, who threw for 207 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 101 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Shaunqueze Foster helped out on the ground, rushing for 89 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Mandarin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Meanwhile, Buchholz faced Nease in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bobcats came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 29-17.

Buchholz's win came from a few key players Mandarin will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Justin Williams, who picked up 131 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one TD on the ground. He was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 51 yards. Andrew Whittemore was another key player, throwing for 214 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Mandarin's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Buchholz, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 11-1.
