Baseball Recap: Byron Center Comes Up Short

If Byron Center was riding high fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Mona Shores on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sailors on Thursday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sailors earlier this season, when they won 8-1.

Byron Center saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keaton Van Kampen, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Kaden Krause also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Byron Center's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Mona Shores, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

While Byron Center had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
