Basketball Game Preview: Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins vs. Butler Bulldogs

The Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins will square off against the Butler Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Orangeburg-Wilkinson will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Orangeburg-Wilkinson beat Oceanside Collegiate Academy 36-31. The 36-point effort marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Harmoni Williams led the charge by putting up nine points and four steals. Williams has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexis Cleckley, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Butler blew past Burke County, posting a 66-36 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Butler and bumps their season record up to 13-2. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, they are also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
