Volleyball Recap: South Iredell Takes a Loss + How To Watch

South Iredell was the 3-1 winner over Maiden when they last played one another back in August of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils on Monday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While South Iredell had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-19.

Despite the loss, South Iredell still got an impressive performance from Bella Gallyon, who had 21 digs and two aces. Gallyon is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Delaney Karriker also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

South Iredell's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Maiden, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

South Iredell has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Davie County on the 30th. As for Maiden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Bandys on the 2nd.
