Basketball Recap: Hephzibah Comes Up Short

Hephzibah lost against Academy of Richmond County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hephzibah Rebels fell 60-48 to the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers.

Academy of Richmond County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from NaCja Johnson, who posted 25 points. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Shaniyah Thompson, who had 18 points.

Hephzibah dropped their record down to 5-15 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Academy of Richmond County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Hephzibah will face off against Baldwin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hephzibah is facing Baldwin at the right time seeing as Baldwin is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Academy of Richmond County, they will challenge Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Academy of Richmond County will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Westside will have lost 18 straight heading into Tuesday's matchup.
