Softball Recap: Pine Tree Comes Up Short

Pine Tree lost against Henderson back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pirates lost 9-1 to the Lions.

Pine Tree saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mo Rougely, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Pine Tree has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15-1 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Henderson, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pine Tree is set to face off against their familiar foe Kilgore at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Henderson will square off against rival Spring Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are on a four-game streak of home wins, the Panthers a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
