Softball Recap: Henderson Comes Up Short

Henderson fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bayard Rustin on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Knights. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Golden Knights: they've now lost five in a row.

Maia Royer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Reitnour, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Henderson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Bayard Rustin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Henderson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-2 loss against Unionville on the 14th. As for Bayard Rustin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Coatesville on the 14th.
