Basketball Game Preview: Mayer Wildcats vs. Bagdad Sultans

The Mayer Wildcats will challenge the Bagdad Sultans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mayer has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 6.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-23, which was the final score in Mayer's tilt against Anthem Prep on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bagdad, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against San Pasqual Valley on Friday as Bagdad made off with a 62-37 win.

Bagdad's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Mayer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

Mayer didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bagdad when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 33-28 win. Will Mayer repeat their success, or does Bagdad have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
