Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Pride vs. Atlee Raiders

The Heritage Pride will square off against the Atlee Raiders at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Heritage comes in on ten and Atlee on 13.

Heritage is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Sherando 4-2.

Aaron Van Tuyle made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Heritage is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-11 otherwise. Van Tuyle was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Van Tuyle wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Miskelly, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while Atlee put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Hampton. The Raiders blew past the Crabbers 7-0. Considering the Raiders have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Heritage pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Atlee, their victory bumped their record up to 19-2.
