Softball Recap: Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Triumphs

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They came out on top against the Neoga Indians by a score of 3-0. That's more bragging rights for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kendra Hayes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Samantha Hayes was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mya Friese, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Neoga struck out 12 times.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Neoga, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg will square off against Central A & M at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Neoga, they will face off against Cerro Gordo/Bement at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
