Baseball Recap: Zion Christian Beats West Michigan Christian for Their Ninth Straight Victory

Zion Christian proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the West Michigan Christian Patriots 4-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Mountaineers, who have now won nine matchups in a row.

Zion Christian pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for West Michigan Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zion Christian will head out to face off against Sacred Heart Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Michigan Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Union at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
