Basketball Recap: Mcnair Falls Despite Big Games from Dennis Johnson and Rashad Blalock

On Friday, the McNair Mustangs came up short against the W D Mohammed Caliphs and fell 61-51.

McNair's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Rashad Blalock, who posted 12 points along with five boards and four steals, and Dennis Johnson, who had eight points and six rebounds. Blalock is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Kamari Reynolds was another key player, putting up three points and seven boards.

W D Mohammed's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mouhamadou Mbodj led the charge by scoring 29 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mbodj has scored at least a third of W D Mohammed's points. Another player making a difference was Ramadan Law, who put up 19 points.

McNair's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for W D Mohammed, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.

McNair wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-37 loss against Drew on the 25th. W D Mohammed has also already played their next game, a 70-64 defeat against Lamar County on the 25th.
