Baseball Game Preview: Upstate Eagles vs. Spartanburg Day Griffins

The Upstate Eagles will head out to face off against the Spartanburg Day Griffins at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Upstate has given up an average of 12.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Upstate came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Spartanburg Christian Academy, falling 12-3.

Jesse Beckwith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson Childers, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Spartanburg Day didn't have quite enough to beat Upstate on Thursday and fell 9-8.

Upstate's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Spartanburg Day, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
