Softball Game Preview: Volunteer Falcons vs. Chuckey-Doak Black Knights

The Volunteer Falcons will challenge the Chuckey-Doak Black Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chuckey-Doak took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Volunteer, who comes in off a win.

Volunteer's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Morristown-Hamblen East as Volunteer made off with a 10-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Addyson Fisher was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Fisher was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, Volunteer got a big performance out of Zetta Smith, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jenna Thomas, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Volunteer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morristown-Hamblen East only posted a batting average of .062.

Meanwhile, Chuckey-Doak came up short against Greeneville on Monday, falling 15-2.

Chuckey-Doak's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Volunteer, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
