Basketball Recap: Crescent Takes a Loss

Crescent extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 6-7. They had to suffer through a 73-21 loss at the hands of the Walhalla Razorbacks. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Razorbacks are ranked 22nd).

As for Walhalla, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games.

Walhalla was led to victory by Kami Roach and Baylee Cannon. Roach shot 54% from the field on her way to 17 points along with seven assists and four steals, while Cannon went 7-for-11 to rack up 16 points and three steals. The game was Roach's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Miley White, who posted eight points and six boards.

Crescent wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-30 defeat against West-Oak on the 13th. As for Walhalla, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-30 victory against Pendleton on the 13th.
