Hickory is 9-1 against King's Fork since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hawks will challenge the Bulldogs at 5:45 p.m. Hickory will be strutting in after a victory while King's Fork will be coming in after a defeat.

Hickory's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Oscar Smith 10-0. Considering the Hawks have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, King's Fork lost 19-1 to Deep Creek on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Hickory's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for King's Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-1.

Everything went Hickory's way against King's Fork in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Hickory made off with a 12-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
