Softball Game Preview: Analy Tigers vs. Rancho Cotate Cougars

The Analy Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Rancho Cotate Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Analy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Analy fell victim to Cardinal Newman and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The game marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Rancho Cotate took on Windsor on Thursday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 9-2 victory. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Jaguars on their field since April 15, 2024.

Madisyn Guinn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jocelyn Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Leila Figoni was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Rancho Cotate hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Windsor struck out 11 times.

Analy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Rancho Cotate, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Analy couldn't quite finish off Rancho Cotate in their previous matchup back in April and fell 9-7. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
