Basketball Recap: Kaiden Oliver's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Willits over Quincy

Willits's tournament run continued when they took on Quincy on Saturday. The Willits Wolverines received a blow as they fell 66-52 to the Quincy Trojans. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Willits lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kaiden Oliver, who posted 22 points and five rebounds. Oliver is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Damian Reiter was another key player, putting up 15 points along with seven assists and five boards.

Willits' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Quincy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Willits didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-53 loss against Round Valley on the 21st. As for Quincy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Loyalton at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
