Baseball Game Preview: Mountain Home Bombers vs. Fair Grove Eagles

The Mountain Home Bombers are taking a road trip to take on the Fair Grove Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Mountain Home has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Mountain Home didn't have quite enough to beat Alma and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Fair Grove came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Warriors a 6-0 shutout. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Fair Grove pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Mountain Home, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Mountain Home skirted past Fair Grove 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bombers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
