Basketball Game Preview: Detroit Community Hurricanes vs. University Prep Panthers

The Detroit Community Hurricanes will challenge the University Prep Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Detroit Community has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.

Detroit Community is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell just short of Chandler Park Academy by a score of 36-34 on Friday. The Hurricanes haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, University Prep didn't have too much trouble with Voyageur Academy on Friday as they won 43-24. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Cougar are ranked 441st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

University Prep pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points per game. As for Detroit Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
