Baseball Game Preview: Maple Hill Wildcats vs. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Ravens

The Maple Hill Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Ravens at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Maple Hill, who comes in off a win.

Maple Hill took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Watervliet by a score of 5-2. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Cannoneers: they've now won five in a row.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk couldn't beat Ichabod Crane on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Ravens came up short against the Riders, falling 14-8. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 26, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Alex Halwick was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Lochner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Maple Hill's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
