Softball Recap: East Union Takes Down Union in a Playoff Battle

East Union had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Union Yellowjackets a 7-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Urchins, who have now won 19 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory (which was East Union's ninth in a row) raised their record to 26-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Union, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-13.

Looking ahead, East Union will square off against Sebastopol at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Urchins surely won't give up without a fight. Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
